I was the most important person in every business I touched.
I started working in operations in 2010. Traditional businesses first — franchises, retail, services. I was good at it. Things got done when I was there.
But the moment I stepped away, things slowed down. Decisions stalled. Teams waited. The business needed me in it to run.
I thought that was normal. It is not. It is a systems problem. And I did not figure that out until it almost cost me everything.

I started documenting everything. Then automating. Then delegating.
In 2015 I moved into digital agencies. The chaos was different but the root problem was identical — the founder was always the bottleneck.
I spent the next several years obsessing over one question: what does a business need to run without its owner?
